BREAKING: Republican Congressman Who Voted To Impeach President Trump Announces Retirement Ahead Of 2022 Re-Election

New York Republican Congressman Rep. John Katko, who is a long time Anti-Thumper just announced that he will not be running for re-election ahead of the 2022 mid-terms.

Katko was one of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach then-President Trump in 2021. He is also one of the 13 Republicans who supported Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill.

“I have been blessed beyond belief with family, health, and the most loving and patient wife on earth,” Katko wrote in a statement. “That’s why, after 32 years of public service, I have decided not to seek re-election to Congress, so that I can enjoy my family and life in a fuller and more present way.”

“It is with profound gratitude for my colleagues, staff, supporters, team, and the people of New York’s 24th Congressional District that I am thrilled to begin this next and best chapter of my life alongside Robin and our family,” he added.

Will this decision to not run in the 2022 mid-terms in November, Katko becomes the 39th member of the House of Representatives to either retire or step down and the 3rd Republican who voted for President Trump’s impeachment. Ohio Congressman Rep. Anthony Gonzalez and Illinois Congressman Rep. Adam Kinzinger are the two other Republicans to announce retirement ahead of the 2022 mid-terms.
