On Monday, rapper Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to announce that she is not attending the Met Gala because of the “proof of vaccination” required to participate in the event. She also mocked people who are blindly getting the vaccines.
“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one,”
“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied” read another follow-up tweet which lead to an outcry amongst many liberal public circles. Some media heads and democrat politicians who were Minaj fans until recently even went as far as demanding Twitter to ban Minaj for “spreading disinformation”
Twitter then began featuring a “vaccine information” page as promoted soon thereafter that read “Contrary to myths circulating on social media and to rapper Nicki Minaj’s tweets during the Met Gala, medical experts and public health organizations say there is no evidence that COVID-19 vaccines affect male fertility. According to the CDC, professional societies for male reproduction recommend men who want to have babies in the future get a COVID-19 vaccine as “there is no evidence that vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccines, cause male fertility problems.”
On Monday, MSNBC’s race lady Joy Reid mentioned on her show that she is very offended by Minaj’s comments, “as a fan.”
“You have a platform, Sister, that is 22 million followers. I have 2 million followers. You have 22 million followers on Twitter. For you to use your platform to encourage our community to not protect themselves and save their lives… my god, Sister, you can do better than that. You got that platform. It’s a blessing. It’s a blessing that you got that. People listen to you. They listen to you more than they listen to me,” Reid said while fuming in anger.
To which Minaj responded, “This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets. ‘My God SISTER do better’ imagine getting ur dumb ass on tv a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman.”
Then she continued to grill MSNBC’s race lady by adding “Why would they bother to read when the lie is so juicy & provocative & got her dumb ass on tv. They got someone with black skin for a reason. They always use us against us.”
And fired back at other liberal outlets like DailyBeast and Variety for misquoting her tweets.
Earlier today, Minaj tweeted a Tucker Carlson segment in which Tucker addresses this situation and praises Minaj for standing up against the establishment which lead to a further outcry by her liberal fanbase.
